Our story

ଆମ କଥା

Ratnachira takes its name from a sacred river associated with Sri Ram and Sita. We carry that name into the literature and publishing of Odisha, one book and one issue at a time.

Where words become gems

A home for Odia writing

Ratnachira is a monthly magazine of Odia literature and a publishing house. In its first years it has brought out more than 150 titles, straddling all genres and tastes.

We look for quality content, not just famous names. Every issue and every book is chosen for the writing, and made with care.

  1. 6 March 2022Ratnachira Publications begins.
  2. 27 May 2022The first issue of the monthly magazine.
  3. Every month sinceA new issue on the 1st, without fail.
  4. TodayMore than 150 titles, mostly Odia, some English, across every genre.
  • Quality over names

A first-time writer and a celebrated one are read the same way.

  • Odia first

The language comes first, in print and on this site, with English beside it.

  • Made with care

Edited, typeset and printed patiently, the way a Pattachitra is painted.
